This years awards ceremony was held in the Corn Exchange, Edinburgh on Thursday 6th November. These awards recognise and reward Scotland’s most committed and caring NHS workers. Unison Ayrshire & Arran Health branch were happy to again be one of the sponsors of this prestigious event. The branch wish to congratulate Bryan Mills & June Dean representing Biggart and Ayrshire Central Hospitals volunteers and Dr Hans Hartung from Crosshouse Hospital who all got through to the final.
In future the branch would like to encourage more nominations from NHS Ayrshire & Arran for these awards. We all know of a NHS worker and or team who regularly go the extra mile for patients so lets make the 2009 awards a good one for Ayrshire and Arran with more staff being nominated and hopefully being selected for the final stages.
There is a category for every NHS worker and the areas they work in – whether it’s the local GP, dental practice, support workers, nursing teams, ambulance service etc. No matter what their title, or where they are based, if they’ve made a difference, we want to know. Nominees must work for NHS Scotland, with the exception of the Healthy Lifestyle, Community and Unsung Hero Award.
Prior to next years awards the Branch will widely circulate nomination forms.
